LEAD EDUCATOR
We are looking for an experienced and energetic person who enjoys thinking outside the box to join our team as a Lead Educator. Reggio’s Treehouse (Hereafter, “RTH”) is an authentic Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool that educates and enriches the minds and lives of our young learners. We embrace the Reggio Emilia philosophy that teaches children to become self-directed learners and whose guiding principles encourage self-expression and critical thinking. We also utilize Creative Curriculum which blends well with the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
As a Lead Educator, you will be working closely with the Center Director and ensuring that the standards set by RTH and the state are met in an organized and timely manner. A Lead Educator must actively research and implement effective provocations and document the findings and also work closely with the Curriculum Director. Since the curriculum is emergent, the educators must ensure all documentation is submitted to the Center Director in a timely manner.
Job Description:
Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the Reggio philosophy that cater to the individual needs of the students.
Monitoring, recording and assessing student progress and development
Provide immediate and appropriate responses based on student need
Learn the technology required to document the experiences of children as well as support the documentation of student/classroom experiences
Maintain NAEYC student and classroom portfolios
Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
Liaise with the Director to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children (PSHE integration)
Have a sharp and progressive vision of interdisciplinary learning and of teaching
Act professionally at all times, setting a good example to children
Use all learning resources effectively and create new ones
Communicating with parents and making sure they are aware the development of their children
Organize and participate in parent meetings
Organize and participate in school meetings, events, and trips
Depending on center and staffing needs, you may be required to support and/or lead a classroom that is not your regularly assigned classroom
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields
At least 2 years work experience in a licensed childcare facility, kindergarten or early childhood program
Experience in a Reggio Emilia-inspired school is highly desirable
Knowledge of Creative Curriculum
Knowledge of Project-Based Learning a plus
Strong organization skills and be able to multitask,
Highly professional and dependable
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite
Teacher certification or teacher license from any agency is a plus
International experience is a plus
